How to find a 7 or 8 seater car
On Car-Rentals.ro you can search for a 7 or 8 seater car at every pick-up point in the form. The search form has no field for the number of seats: you search first with your location and dates, then choose “7+” (or “8+” if you need 8 seats) under the “Seats” filter in the results. On a phone, tap “Filters”, choose the number of seats under “Seats” and confirm with the button at the bottom of the screen.
The “Seats” filter shows only the seat counts found for your search: if there is no 7 or 8 seater car among the results, the option does not appear. Try other dates or another pick-up point.
7-seat MPV or 8-seat van
The classes with the most seats in the catalogue are a 7-seat MPV, with a manual gearbox, and an 8-seat van, with an automatic one. You will find them below, under “Classes with 7 or more seats”, each with the number of seats, the bags and the transmission. In the results they appear under the “MPV / Van” type.
- Seats and luggage. With every seat taken, the luggage matters as much as the seats: compare the number of bags on the card or sort by “Most space”.
- The gearbox. If you want an automatic, combine the “7+” and “Automatic” filters; see also automatic car rental in Romania.

Licence, drivers and children
- A category B licence covers motor vehicles with a maximum authorised mass of no more than 3,500 kg, designed to carry no more than eight passengers in addition to the driver (Directive 2006/126/EC, art. 4). Both the 7-seat and the 8-seat cars are within the seat limit; the maximum authorised mass is in the registration certificate.
- Several drivers. Only the drivers named in the contract may drive the car; if you want to take turns, name all of them when you book. The rental company's rules for additional drivers are below.
- Seat belts are compulsory for the driver and for all passengers in seats fitted with belts (art. 36 of the Road Traffic Code).
- Children under 12 or shorter than 150 cm must wear seat belts adapted to their weight and size, and children under 3 travel only in approved child restraints (art. 97 of the Road Traffic Regulations).
- When you book you can add child seats, chosen by the child's weight, and a booster seat, if they are offered for the car you chose. The price is shown in the booking.

How booking works
- Search. In the form at the top, choose the pick-up point, the dates and times, state the driver’s age and start the search.
- Choose a class. The results show the classes available for your dates, with the total price; you can filter them by transmission, vehicle type or number of seats. You book a category, not a model: the car in the picture is an example, which is why “or similar” appears next to the name.
- Choose protection and options. You add optional protection and extras when they are offered for the car you chose; the total is updated in the booking summary.
- Enter your details. Send the booking and receive the confirmation by e-mail; you can reopen it at any time on the Check reservation page. You pay at pick-up.
What you need at pick-up
The driver’s documents, the card for the deposit and the age the driver must have are set by the rental company of your booking: its rules are below, under “What the rental company’s conditions say”, each with the article of its conditions.
Payment and what is included
- Nothing is paid online: you pay the rental company at pick-up. The deposit amount is shown in your booking summary.
- You see the total price before you send the booking, with the mandatory fees included.
- What the rate includes and what you pay separately (protection, the mileage limit, fees) are set by the rental conditions of the company that hands you the car.

Similar car: If the car you chose can no longer be made available for objective, technical, operational or availability reasons, the rental company may propose a similar car or an available alternative. Rental Conditions, art. 12.6

Documents: When you sign the contract, you present your original driving licence, an identity document and a credit card valid for at least 3 months after the contract closing date. Rental Conditions, art. 2.1

International driving licence: It is mandatory for citizens of states that are neither parties to the Vienna Convention on Road Traffic nor members of the European Union, or with which Romania has not concluded a treaty on the mutual recognition of driving licences, for holders of documents issued in countries using a script other than the Latin alphabet, and for licences obtained in right-hand-drive cars (for example the UK, India, Australia, Japan). Card for the deposit: A credit card is mandatory for the deposit. Pre-paid cards, virtual cards, cards not marked “credit” or not embossed and Diners Club cards are not accepted; fintech cards (Revolut, Monese, N26, etc.) and virtual cards can be used only to pay for services, not for the deposit. Additional drivers: Only the drivers named in the contract may drive the car. Each additional driver must meet the same rental conditions; the fee is €10 per day for each driver. Rental Conditions, art. 2.3, 2.5

Driver’s age: If a driver named in the contract is between 18 and 21 years old or over 65, a fee of €170 is charged and the liability limit cannot be reduced with SCDW or SCDW+. Rental Conditions, art. 4.3

Included protection: The rate includes CDW damage protection and theft protection (TP), and the car has RCA (third-party liability) insurance. Mileage: For rentals of up to and including 3 days, a limit of 250 km per day applies, and extra kilometres are paid at the cost stated in the contract. For rentals of 4–30 days in Romania, the conditions set no limit; above 30 days, the limit is 2,500 km per month. Rental Conditions, art. 3.16

Yes, when you book you can add child seats, chosen by the child's weight, and a booster seat, if they are offered for the car you chose. The price is shown in the booking.
How much does a 7 or 8 seater car cost?
The price is calculated for each car category, for your location and dates, so we cannot quote it in advance. In the results, choose “7+” under “Seats” and sort by “Total price: low to high”: that shows the available cars ordered by total price. Nothing is charged online on Car-Rentals.ro: you pay the rental company when you collect the car.
