This policy explains which cookies and other browser storage the www.car-rentals.ro website, operated by S.C. GLOBAL REFERENCE SRL, uses, for what purpose and for how long. For how we process personal data, see the Privacy Policy.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small files that a website saves in your browser. Websites may also use other forms of browser storage (localStorage, sessionStorage), which work in a similar way. We use only those listed below.
2. How you give or withdraw consent
On your first visit we show you a banner in which you can accept all cookies, reject them all or choose the “Analytics” and “Marketing” categories separately. Strictly necessary cookies cannot be switched off, because the website and the booking process do not work without them.
You can change your choice at any time from the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of every page. If you withdraw your consent, we delete the analytics or marketing cookies set on our domain and the data saved in your browser that depends on your consent (section 4), on any page of the website. You can also delete cookies at any time in your browser settings.
Until you consent to analytics, no Google script is loaded (neither Google Tag Manager nor Google Analytics).
3. Strictly necessary cookies
- cr_consent – remembers your choice in the cookie banner (analytics and marketing: yes or no, date of the choice). First-party cookie, duration: 180 days.
- __Host-cr_session – session cookie, set only on the booking pages (results, offer, checkout, confirmation), when you check or cancel a booking and in the administration area. It keeps the offer you chose and the protection against forged requests. First-party, encrypted cookie, duration: 2 hours from the last activity. No session cookie is set on the other pages of the website.
- remember_web_… – only for website administrators who choose “remember me” when signing in. First-party cookie, duration: 7 days.
4. Data stored in the browser (localStorage and sessionStorage)
- cr_checkout_… (sessionStorage) – the details you enter in the booking form (name, e-mail, telephone, country, flight number, notes) and the step you reached, so that you do not lose them if you reload the page. Your acceptance of the Terms is not saved. They stay only in your browser and are deleted when you submit the booking or close the tab.
- cr_rfilters (sessionStorage) – the filters you choose on the search results page (for example the car class or the gearbox), so that the “Back to results” link keeps them for the same search. It is functional: it contains only the filters and a code of the search from which the places, dates or driver age cannot be read, contains no personal data, stays in the current tab only and is deleted when you close the tab.
- cr_results_… (sessionStorage) – only if you accepted analytics cookies: marks that the results of a search have already been shown in the current tab, so that statistics do not count them twice. It contains no personal data and is deleted when you close the tab or withdraw your consent.
- cr_attribution (localStorage) – only if you accepted analytics or marketing cookies: the source of your first and last visit (campaign parameters, landing page, the domain of the website you came from, language, date), sent with the booking. Advertising click identifiers (for example gclid) are saved only with marketing consent. Deleted when you withdraw your consent.
5. Analytics cookies (only with your consent)
We use Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to understand how the website is used (pages visited, searches, booking steps), without sending your name, e-mail address or telephone number to Google. Google Signals is switched off.
- _ga – distinguishes visitors with a random identifier. Provider: Google, duration: 2 years.
- _ga_SQKF6GMS5B – keeps the state of the visit session. Provider: Google, duration: 2 years.
The provider is Google Ireland Limited; data may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA, as described in the Privacy Policy (section 6). How Google uses the data: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
6. Marketing cookies (only with your consent)
The website currently uses no advertising tags (for example Google Ads or Meta Pixel). If you accept marketing cookies together with analytics cookies, the Google tag may set the _gcl_au cookie (Google, 90 days), used to measure advertising conversions. If we add advertising tools, we will update this page before using them, and they will only work with your consent.
7. Changes to this policy
We update this policy whenever we add or remove a cookie. The version in force and its date are shown on this page.
